Offertory Collection this weekend is the Annual Collection for the work of The Irish Episcopal Conference. This collection is used to finance the various commissions and agencies set up by the Irish Bishops Conference to provide services to the church at a national level. The areas served include Liturgy, Education, Communications Office, Justice and Peace, Emigrants, Research and Development, and many more.
The following Hours of Adoration still need to be covered in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Fermoy. 3.00 am to 4.00 am early Monday morning and 1.00am to 2.00am early on Wednesday morning. If anyone can cover either of these hours even for a short while, please let one of the priests know.
EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS 2012: In preparation for next year’s International Eucharistic Congress there will be an Information Evening including Reflection/Prayer through Drama at The Corrin Events Centre (Cork Marts) Fermoy on this Sunday 22nd May at 7.00pm. This is an event organised by The Diocese of Cloyne Everyone Welcome.
Day of Renewal and Prayer for Eucharistic Adorers in Preparation for the 50th International Congress 2012 will take place on Saturday next 28th May 2011 in Mallow conducted by Fr. Patrick Winkle . For further information and to book a place for the day contact Gertie Barry telephone 025/31369.
Ballyvolane House Open Garden: Thanks to all who attended last Sunday’s Bi-Centenary Event at Ballyvolane House. Also thanks to Christ Church for organising the event, Fermoy Concert Band and to the Green Family for opening their magnificent
gardens to us.
St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society Annual Pilgrimmage to Knock will take place on Saturday 25th June . Bus leaves Pearse Square at 7.00am. Due to return by 10.30pm. St. Joseph’s National School (Barrack Hill) are celebrating their 50th Anniversary (1961- 2011) on Saturday next 28th May. Celebrations begin with Mass in The School Grounds at 2.30pm. Following the Mass Fermoy Concert Band will give a recital. The School will be open for Pupils Past & Present, their Families and anyone associated with St. Joseph’s down through the years. Old Photographs and Roll Books will be on display. This day promises to be a day of nostalgia and old school memories, mixed with entertainment and refreshments. Everyone is indeed very welcome to St. Joseph’s next Saturday.
Loss and Recovery: A Time to Remember; A Time to Grieve; A Time to Heal ;A Time to Love…..For all those who have known the loss of a loved one. Remember you do not have to hide behind a brave front in times of deep sorrow. The evening will flinish with a Service of Light.
