The following Hours of Adoration need to be covered in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Fermoy. 4.00pm to 5.00pm on Sunday Afternoon. 12noon to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 2.00pm on Wednesday Afternoon. And 1.00pm to 2.00pm Friday afternoon. If anyone can cover these hours even for a short while, please let one of the priests know.

YEAR OF FAITH: OCT. 11, 2012-NOV. 24, 2013:
With his Apostolic Letter of October 11, 2011,Porta Fidei. . . , Pope Benedict XVI declared that a “Year of Faith” will begin on October 11, 2012 and conclude on November 24, 2013. October 11, 2012, the first day of the Year of Faith, is the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. . . (Vatican II) and also the twentieth anniversary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. During the Year of Faith, Catholics are asked to study and reflect on the documents of Vatican II and the catechism so that they may deepen their knowledge of the faith.

Congratulations to Loreto School Choir who this week won The Munster Regional heat of The All Ireland School Choirs Competition. They will now take part in The All Ireland School Choirs Competition in Belfast in November. Tim Fuohy conducted the Choir and Deirdre Foley accompanied them. The competition can be seen on R.T.E. 1 this Sunday at 5.10pm.

Fermoy Meals on Wheels are holding a Table Quiz on Monday the 15th October in the Grand Hotel.
Tables of 5 €30. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Meals on Wheels provides hot nutritional meals to over 40 people living in the town and immediate communities. Please come along for an enjoyable night and support a worthy cause. For more information please contact Fermoy Resource Centre on 02532962.

The date for the Fermoy Senior Citizen’s Autumn Social has changed and it will now take place in The Rowing Club Fermoy on Friday 2nd November, proceedings will start at 7.30 sharp and light refreshments will be served followed by a night of dancing to the music of Edmond O’Gorman and Pacific Blue, all enquires to Frances 086 8762355.
