Carrig an Aifrinn Fermoy: For generations many of the faithful gather at the sacred Penal Days Mass rock at Carraig an Aifrinn in the townland of Knockananig, Fermoy on the Sunday after the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. They gather for prayer and in remembrance of those who suffered in those terrible Penal Days. Our faith teaches us to forgive; so let us forgive with all our heart, but let us never forget.
