The first reading is usually from the Old Testament: except during the Easter Season when it is from the Acts of the Apostles. The inclusion of the Old Testament reading at Mass helps us to learn the story of Israel. Our salvation is foretold in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament in the person of Jesus Christ. The reader ends with “The Word of the Lord” and we answer “Thanks be to God”. We are thankful to God for His goodness, His acts in history and for speaking to each of us through the Scriptures.
Items of a Religious or Community Nature: Are welcome for this Parish Newsletter. Notices should be given in by Wednesday Afternoon to The Parish Office (Tel 025-30856) or email email@example.com
